Some new ambient from me

I've finished a few pieces lately, both ambient but very different from each other.

First one is called Shin'ei which is very meditative and features the most wonderful live flute played by Craig Organismic, whom I'm also doing another collaboration with, very excited for that one, as the Organismic boys make very high quality music, with superbly rich mixdowns. Anyway Shin'ei is named after a very old Japanese shogunate era word meaning 'Sound of the Gods', which I came across reading the Hagakure. It probably should have had an Indian name because that's the influence I was putting into it with the tabla, but then again the flute is actually from China. So there we go, my first Indian based, Chinese instrumented, Japanese named ambient piece.

Again my blog hosts have ignored my requests for soundcloud embedding, so you'll have to click to a new page.

So click here to hear Shin'ei

A nice shot of Shiva meditating on the banks of the Ganges in Rishikesh.

Onwards, the second track 'The Ninth Season' is something I started a while ago after being inspired my favourite album of last year, which if you look at the post below this one you'll see it's Woob - Repurpose. This track I dedicate to Paul Frankland aka Woob for creating an album that will stick with me for the rest of my life. It's much darker than Shin'ei and much more cinematic with choirs, trumpets, and borderline harsh bells and clanks of stirring a metal hotpot. I named the track 'The Ninth Season' as a little rearrangement of the name of Woob's blog - 'Season 9'.

I can't remember exactly where this photo is. I think it might be the Tibetan plateau.

Let me know what you think ;)

Observation

Sorry for the little action going on here (I'll explain why in a little bit)

Just heads up on this wonderful track 'Melchizedek Heart Meditation' by The Observer. It's a 20 min piece of very subtle music with spoken dubbed out words from Drunvalo Melchizedek, whom, I admit, I don't know too much about. Seen one of his lectures on sacred geometry which was cool, but never some of the meditation speeches. Free download, while it lasts.

Bliss out!
