Made totally on the fly! Beardyman does some beatboxing into a rack of effects and comes out looking like Biosphere at the other end. BIG, and beautiful!

I know much things haven't been said lately, for I've been working a lot on
my own production (coming along real nicely after some epiphanic (is that a
word? ) shit), and way to keep things moving check out these latest videos made
for DJ Trax. Some stunning graphics
and animation to some of my most anticipated beats this year.
These songs will explain themselves better than I can. Some chilled ambient
breakbeats.
If you like this then check out his website on my links to the right, and his new album 'Thoughts In Widescreen' is available with this months Knowledge, a drum and bass magazine, which can be ordered online from various places. So for £4 you get the album, and then you can do whatever with the mag, shred it up, use it as hamster bedding or whatever. Check kmag.co.uk for more info.

Okay, some of you might have seen this before but for those who haven't then
check it out.
This IS by far my favourite performance of live music ever, and I wasn't
even there. The depth and vibrancy of the musicians speaks volume. This is how
to get high without drugs. This is music without limitations. Pure undiluted
expression. My words don't even come close to how magical this is, infact I'm
just waffling on to get you to watch.
Also what is really nice is the fact that they finish with one minute to go til
00:00 on New Year's Eve 2004/5.
I've been uploading this performance of 'Around The World In A Tea Daze' by
Shpongle for the past two hours thanks to my crappy internet connection, so
hopefully you'll take the time out to download it.
It's rather large, a 175mb AVI file.
Yes, it is on YouTube, but this isn't about sacrificing quality. Plus this is a
longer video than the one on YouTube.
So please right click and save target as (don't stream)..
Shpongle - Around The World In A Tea Daze (live in Tokyo)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arrrrgh, I can't describe how good this is... I'm melting away into a multi-dimensional puddle of plasma.
If you ever get the opportunity to see Shpongle live, then don't hesitate. You'll be carried off on a wave of non-descript euphoria.

After spending all afternoon choosing which Alex Grey poster (would love a print but too much $ for me at the moment) I wanna buy, I came across this video of him talking about an Ayahuasca experience.
And after seeing him talk about his classic piece 'Theologue' on Liquid Crystal Vision, I'm gonna have to get a poster of this ($95 framed), cos the print is $900.
Brilliant artist! So I'm after bits and pieces of art done by people on or influenced by psychoactive substances, any recommendations? Where prints or posters aren't overly expensive. The Mars One prints at the Jonathon Levine Gallery, NYC, are going dirt cheap, google it : )

Check out Twisted Records and Younger Brother's myspace
Also a thanks to the people who have checked out this site. We've been alive for one month today. Getting a surprisingly nice amount of hits a day. Give me more comments though!!! Let me know what you've been listening to, who to check out, what artists you'd like to see on board. I'll upload some more mixes of psybient/ambient/dubby shiz very soon.
Also off to Aurora 09. Anyone coming?

Yes more Youtube videos, but if you want your daily dosage of dub, highly concentrated into 3 extremely sick videos, then have a look.
With a surprisingly 'alright' sound quality for Youtube, here is Pitch Black doing live dub inna New Zealand stylee!!
Quality dub / breaks / techno / & dnb crossover. No wonder they've had a load of releases on Liquid Sound, and have been remixed a plenty by Youth.
Check their site out http://www.pitchblack.co.nz
And if you like this, then there's a Pitch Black tune in my January '09 mix at the bottom of this page, and hopefully soon I'll post a free 320 of my remix of their tune Harmonia, when its 100% done. I'll put up a clip in a sec.

Damn! Why's it taken me till now to hear this? Here's two tracks by the Swedish ambient duo, Carbon Based Lifeforms. The videos are nice too, I don't think they're official, but they work well.

I'm digging these two tracks so much I've just ordered both their albums off Ultimae.com. Have no idea what any of the other tunes sounds like, but I bet they're good. I'll write a review when they arrive, and have a fat chill, and listen to them while watching some of the IMAX films on Everest, or maybe Baraka. Can't wait for this coming week to be over and done with. I have to finish off one tune, and record another and mix them both by friday. I need a solid day in the studio tomorrow! So hopefully on the weekend I'll have some of my own stuff to show here.
Let me know if you dig the Carbon Based Lifeforms tracks as much as me, and if theres stuff to recommend then fire away!

I wanted to put up the video of Fat Freddy's Drop in Manchester 15th November 2008, which was a truly amazing performance. They were doing their chilled out traditional NZ dub which was great, but then suddenly went all live minimal techno! Anyway the video from Manchester on Youtube's all crappy quality, so here the same tune they performed at the Dublin concert. The quality is not great, but million times better than the Manchester one. The track is called 'Wild Wind'.
The homepage of Fat Freddy's Drop
By the way, I don't intend to just post Youtube videos all the time, but this one just had to be done : )

Such a lovely tune! After only discovering Abakus a few months ago, he's definitely shot up high in my all time faves. I must listen to his tunes a few times a day at least... trancendental biz that clears my head instantly!
Check out more of his tunes on Liquid Sound & Modus Records.

I was gonna put up his track 'Daybreak' but the sound quality on Youtube is poor, and it doesn't do it justice. I'll try find a good clip on the net, or try get in touch with the man himself, see if he'd allow a clip up.
Expect definitely a lot more praise from me soon!
